In the celebrations of Raksha Bandhan[1] , I was dressed as a minister wearing a turban which made everyone laugh as I was not a Punjabi boy. I wore a white Dhoti Kurta   which made me abashed in front of the whole class but I was by chance lucky as my friend Manav had also worn the same.
When I came to my school I was informed that it was raining. I was very unlucky because I had came dressed up in the right dress waiting for the celebrations to finish so that I would not look like a Sardar[2]  even after I remove my turban.
Luckily the celebrations were not cancelled. Scene 1 showed a family in which 3 boys had come back from England to meet their parents and celebrate Diwali[3]. They did not like the celebration and wanted to know the reason behind such Poojas[4]. Then scene 2 started in which I was included. It was explaining a story of the queen of Chhattisgarh and how she made her brother – sister relationship with Humayun.  Scene 3 then started. It was giving a news headline in which the no. of girls in India had dropped. They also gave a funny scene in which two boys were tying Rakhi in each other‘s wrist. Then the play ended with a dance performed by the girls.
This was the first time I had worn a turban in my life!
